Casey

You say they hate you,
That your life is a living hell.
Well, baby, I tried to change that...
I tried to help you out.
You pushed me away
When I held you close.
You said just once
And I wanted forever...
An impossibility with you.
Why couldn't we know years ago
That it would be this way?
Wishes that we could go back in time
To less complicated matters
And play again at puppetry
While sharing secret smiles.
After being turned away
By you, the one I wanted near,
I kept holding to hope of someday...
But why the heck do I still care?
